Inspired by the customary huipil (wee-peel), or blouse, women wear in the village of Quiejel, Guatemala. Recreated with a new color palette exclusively for Ara Collective. Pillows are brocaded by hand on a Mayan backstrap loom, taking 15 days to weave just one pillow. Each row of designs is different, creating a rich heritage piece for your home. Design on front only with a solid ivory backing. Due to its handcrafted nature, each pillow varies slightly.
This pillow helps provide education and health care for the artisans and the children of Maya Traditions Group.
