Indigo Chimas Pillow

made by MAYA TRADITIONS GROUP in lake atitlán, guatemala

4 in stock

Midnight indigo is broken up by three lines of “chimas” ikat from the lakeside village of San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. This deep hue is organically achieved by repeatedly dipping the threads in indigo dye, which comes from the leaves of the Indigofera Tinctoria plant. Handwoven on a traditional Mayan backstrap loom. Design on front only, with plain ivory backing. Due to its handcrafted nature, each pillow varies slightly.

This pillow helps provide education and health care for the children of Maya Traditions Group.
